We are encountering with the new digital revolution every year. Printed materials moved in the Internet. Marketing and CRM issues carried out through social media. Sales activity is carried out through e-commerce. Social commerce came into our lives with social media.
With so much development on the Internet, the IT sector was the fastest growing sector in 2012. So we wanted to talk about Cloud Computing in the first days of this year.
What is Cloud Computing?
Cloud computing is a general name given to provide sharing of common information services. It's not a product, it's a service. Things to be done with the software has arrived many interesting points with IT industry progressively. Even hardware that uses this software continued to evolve similar process. New software's required more powerful hardware, and new hardware required new software that can use all the offered power.
The companies had to make a serious investment in hardware and software to have a different technology, and to use these technologies. People have needs for processing information. The concepts of e-mail, instant messaging, voice and video calls, content sharing and connect to social networks became a daily need. But, companies can't offer / aren't offering all of these services due to the high costs.
Cloud provides to the small and medium-sized companies, the possibility of using the infrastructure and information technology. In the business model using software as a service, users can access to application software and databases.
The Benefits of Cloud Computing;
- Virtualization technology allows servers and storage devices to be shared, and utilization to increase. Applications can be easily migrated from one physical server to another.
- Cost is claimed to be reduced and in a public cloud delivery model capital consumption is converted to operational consumption.
- Peak-load capacity increases (Customers don't worry for the top limit of load levels.)
- Utilization and efficiency for systems have a 10-20% increase.
- Maintenance of cloud computing applications is easier, because they do not need to be installed on each user's computer and can be accessed from different places.
By computing theorists claim that the future of Internet will go through cloud computing. We also look forward to developments on this issue in 2013.
